problems with radio dropping out

Just picked up fortuner with sat nav option, the radio volume drops down at traffic lights etc even when he sat nav is not on. Raised it with the service dept and was told they all do that. It is a bit annoying.
Has anyone else had the same issue and how have you resolved it?
