Hi guys/girls,
I have been thinking of getting some more accessories for the car but ive noticed there isnt really much info on the different parts that are available. So i figured we could start a bit of a database of accessories that people have, with photos, and others who are thinking of buying can get a better idea and not have to go to every dealership in town to find one with the part you want fitted to a demo vehicle.
So ill start,
I only have 2 so far, the Alloy winch compatible bull bar, and the standard tow bar
Alloy bar -
Things i've noticed - Its scary how much of the front bumper and inner wheel arch guards get cut away to fit the bar.
- Once fitted it looks quite good, doesn't protrude out too far in front
- The winch location is hidden inside the bar and protected by a big reinforced mount, so you will need a decent bump to start damaging anything (note: i havent got a winch yet, cant justify $3500 for a warn winch from Toyota)
- I have been told that the alloy bar, along with the Toyota/warn winch will overload the front springs, so part of the fitting kit is a suspension upgrade for the front
Tow Bar - Pretty standard unit, nothing that sets it apart from every other tow bar i've ever seen.
-Wont affect the departure angles by much at all, if anything it might even act as a bit of a bump guard and save the rear bumper

So bring out your accessories!! Anything that is Toyota genuine needs to be up here and with a review from someone who has used it in the real world
Cheers
James
P.S. sorry for the same photo again and again, if people are looking for close ups of certain parts of the bar, just let me know and ill sort it out
