  • Toyota Link - Pandora no longer available in Australia

Just read this, compounds my woes a bit...

Lasted 2 years, announced July 2015 as partnership with Toyota, no longer to be serviced (also Ford and Holden as I understand).

I know lots of members will have never used it, including myself, but when technology, or choice of tech becomes redundant I am left wanting.

Maybe they should do a recall and offer a flash to Apple Music/Android Play... Or at least now review apps.

I cant even get Toyota Link up and running to get Destination Download working... More on this later.

Further to Deeds' post - when you receive the Mandatory Update message on your head unit and perform the update, Pandora will be removed from your media options.

I haven't noticed any other changes after the update.

You'd recon there'd be a simple option on new vehicles to specify what type of head unit functionality and connectivity you want at delivery - apple, google, linux, atari. Whatever you choose they just plug the pre-programed drive with os into the head unit.

Yes, in this day and age you would think so!

I can happily use my phone to play music via Bluetooth, and if I want to buy music, purchase through the phone.

However, given the range of wireless these days, the car should really provide its own hotspot and have a basic touchscreen interface (even if only available with ignition off).

I wont bother going aftermarket, and will most probably use a tablet for navigation purposes etc anyway.... However...

Toyota Link is woeful, Pandora was basically unusable with how slow and unresponsive it was.
