  • Fortuner Upgrade apparently coming this November

I have heard that the Hilux and Fortuner are getting an upgrade / facelift in coming months. There is some information available on the Hilux changes, but haven't heard much about the Fortuner changes.

Does anyone know what changes are going to occur across the range?

I thought the design was to stay the same but added tech?

An article I read about the 2018 Prado mentioned that tech usually put into the upper spec VX models was going to filter down to the GX & GXL Prados. Maybe? its the same with the Tuners with some of the bling in the Crusade going into the GX & GXLs. Will be interesting to see if that does happen.

If anything, im willing to bet TRD spec for Fortuner (available overseas) which is essentially tech.

Interesting to note petrol engine no longer offered in Hilux, nor manual (Edit: Wrong lol)... The later being perhaps another 'Tuner hint (maybe lol)

I count 14 manual variants and 17 auto variants in their list. Manuals still make up a significant chunk of their model lineup.

That article I mentioned above, also indicated no more petrol engines for the Prado, as it only makes up .02% of prado sales. diesel only

I think you will find thats why they are so cheap at the moment. I test drove one a few weekends ago and the dealer said they had been instructed to clear all stock to make way for a technical update

Well except for the fact that I now suddenly feel like a paid a bit too much for my 'tuna, I think this is good news for the model. I always thought that they were priced too high against the competition. It should mean that we'll see more of then on the road and have better support for after market part. It's also good that the model hasn't changed much at all. It means our current model hasn't suddenly become obsolete overnight

Wow, that's a fairly serious price drop. Makes the GX a very tempting proposition.

Welp, was a little off specs wise but price dump is to what I paid with on roads, for a 2016 one owner car.

No changes to GX spec apart from parking sensors (nice) and alloys (meh).

good too see I still got a good price, Toyota knowing these were coming reduced all vehicles prior to June build by $10k so I jumped on it and put savings into accessories 😊 only things I wouldn't mind from New crusade is the sound system and led headlights

Just realized that the prices quoted in the Car Advice article do not include on-road costs. So the prices are essentially similar to what Toyota was running them out in August/September at but with the new goodies.
