Downside of adding an additional petrol fuel filter ?

Any body has experience adding an additional fuel filter to the engine ? found some universal ones in aliexpress that can be added to the fuel line, I am worried it might underfeed the engine and reduce performance or mess up with the injection computer.

Background: Local petrol in Angola is so bad, Toyota Dealership only sells Diesel Powered cars, I got my petrol 2.7 as a Dubai import from another dealer.

I've just put in a 30 micron pre filter/water separator & haven't noticed any drop in performance or any other issues.
sorry, just read that yours is petrol. Mine is a diesel.

with fuel injected petrol engines , it is difficult to add an extra fuel filter , because the pump is inside the petrol tank and it feeds pressure to the system at around 40PSI. So any filter you install needs to be able to handle that pressure.
