  • Rail Pressure.

Hi guys. Can anyone give me an idea of rail pressure at idle and under load on the new 2.8l diesel please? Bought a cheap scantool but it seems to be giving some strange readouts in some areas, the rail being one.
    Thanks.

Well well. I found the answer. In the engine section there is an article on the engine which says that injection pressure {rail pressure I guess} is 35-220 Mpa. That converts to 5000 - 31900 psi. I guess 5000 at idle and 31900 at full acceleration. Exactly what I;m getting. Any comment welcome.. Thanks for the input. cheers.

it would seem the manual is correct :-p I've also recorded the 31,900 PSI on my OBDII sensor

Hunteroz. What revs and gear etc are you hitting the 32k psi? I thought it would be at 1500 rpm approx, max torgue, but I get it at about 3500 or max power. That's in 3rd gear as trying it in higher gears breaks our speed limits.
    Cheers.
