it is efficient or need to change shock absorbers?

  • #2
I guess it really depends how much load you apply to the rear.

But when you change your shock absorbers to KYB, you can donate the original one to me 😃

        Hi awarenica,

The only suspension that I know of at the moment is the Ironman offering. A good offering and they get good reviews from other users on other vehicles

(assumption steel bar is used, but they do have kits for no bullbar fitted and alloys)

If that is for the current Fortuner 2015+ then that is also a good option. A lot of people like the OME stuff

Patience, they will come out with a kit soon 👍 You might also want to keep an eye on Bilstein shocks.

Looking at that rear suspension photo, I'm thinking that a sway bar disconnect setup will free up a lot of travel down the track!

                      Visit Pedders.
Pedders can source any coil, shock or strut for any vehicle. They know what goes with what and what works and what doesn't.

I went with OME, using the (basic lift) set up recommended to me. My GX has rear drawers & tools in them 24/7, the fridge & camping gear only go in when going away. Surprisingly, I have rear sag due to the weight in the drawers. Now I've got to get that upgraded to get the rear up.

I had Bilstein shocks on my Patrol for about 10 years before the rear set had to be changed. The front shocks were changed about 2yrs after that, & I went with Pedders for both changes.

As mentioned by a fellow Fortuner blogger, when getting a shock/spring upgrade, be mindful of all the gear; water, food, spares, & people weight etc you take on trips, & set the upgrade up to suit.
