Hello all.
I have a 2015 GX Auto & after much research I've talked myself into down the track getting the TOYO Open Country AT 2's. That was until I noticed on the tyre placard that it says that my car has to have a minimum speed rating of S.
The TOYO's in 265/65/17 LT only come in R 170km/HR vs S 180km/HR stipulated on the placard.
This is what the SA Government site says.
"The speed rating of the tyres fitted to vehicles for off-road must be of at least 140 km/h ('N') when the tyre placard requires a higher speed rating than 'N'.
The speed rating of the tyres fitted to a passenger vehicle must be at least 180 km/h ('S') when the tyre placard requires a higher speed rating than 'S', for all other vehicles a speed rating of at least 120 km/h applies ('L')."
I'm a bit confused, anyone put R or less rated tyres on?
