  • Tuner setup

Over the next 8 weeks I’ll be getting this 2016 GXL reading for some touring in Western Australia.
A lot of the choices I have made were based on feedback and info gleamed from this forum so thanks for that! I will post some pics and try to keep track of weights / economy figures as I go.
    Plan to install:
    Scangauge 2
    Provent catch can
    Fuel manager pre filter
    K&N filter
    Toyota genuine bar (colour coded)
Toyota recovery points / splash guard
    Toyota snorkel
    Rhino pioneer roof tray
    Fyrlyt spotlights
    CB radio
    Dual battery system
    False floor / fridge slide
Pirelli Scorpion AT + (stock size 265/65/17)

    Hi Desan
I have a pretty similar setup to what you proposed. Has worked well for me. Took the family across the Simpson last year with no problems.

    Good lunch with the build

    cheers

I see you have air bag suspension in the rear, did you make any changes to the front suspension?

Just fitted the pioneer platform, install was a bit painful, didn't have the instructions but once I found some other ones online detailing how the legs fit to the bars it was ok. No drilling required. Whistled a bit at 110 but that might be because i forgot the winds strips.

Interested in the noise level from this style mounting compared to the backbone system. We want to put one on ours

Since fitting the wind strips and fairing there has been no whistling and the noise didn't bother me on a 1000km+ drive with the family.
I'm happy with the rail mount option as its surprisingly low profile and can be removed when not in use to get the better mileage.

Piranha battery tray and fuel manager bracket fitted. Cables will need a bit of massaging to fit the Yuasa N70T 102Ah battery.

As yet no changes to front suspension

Didnt really need to in its present form

      On the pioneer rack.
There is certainly some additional noise along with a noticeable increase in fuel consumption

Hi was looking at fitting a snorkel to my Crusade but a bit hesitant as To which one as I do not want any wind noise. They say the Toyota one is not sealed but what part is not sealed if it’s only the drain holes at the top near the side window for the water then that’s fine
Looking forward to your thoughts cheers Goodi

The noise from the Toyota one doesn't bother me, first vehicle I have had with a snorkel though so can't really compare. I believe the part that is not sealed is where it connects to the filter box in the engine bay, not an issue for wind noise but would be if you are in water above the wading depth. Some people seal it up.

Nice set up 👍 Hi I would like to know what fridge slide you have as I’m after on that does not rattle. And did you bolt it through the floor. Mine is a fridge mate ever cool 60.
