Cossack from Melbourne - first time into a Toyota & first time on a forum. Due to take delivery of a GXL Fri 29/4. Have updated from a Jeep Grand Cherokee (WH 2006) & before that a GQ Patrol.
Compared Isuzu MU-X & Pajeros both the new Sport & Exceed full size unit. It was a toss up between MU-X & Fortuner. Final decision based on better torque figures on the Fortuner 450Nm Vs 380Nm.
Jeep GC is 510Nm so wasn't prepared to take the bigger torque reduction. Hilux DNA also helped with decision making.
Have dressed with nudge bar, tow pack, bonnet protector, slimline weather shields, rubber floor mats, rear cargo mat & canvas seat covers - front & middle seats. Have requested dealer to remove 3rd row seats & leave in the back. Will put into storage. Space more valuable than seats. Had same scenario in Patrol. My view these should be an option not fitted from the 'get go'.Have made suggestion to dealer he feed that back to Toyota.
Come end of the year I will be joining the 'grey nomads'.
