Hey All,
Been looking at 4WD's for a while now and after many test drives and reviewing the direct competition, decided on the Fortuner.
I just found it was more "solid" than the others. Also like the way it drove and it ticked all the right boxes.
We managed to pickup an Eclipse Black Crusade for a decent price, as it was a Demo.
So far the accessories list is, Alloy Bar, Slimline weather shields, Bonnet Protector, Full Tint and Tow-bar.
First upgrades she'll be getting is - OME suspension, 2" lift. Milford Cargo Barrier, Rhino Roof rack and Mesh platform/awning and trying to work out pros and cons of the Snorkel systems available. Will also get set of AT's, as the HT's aren't ideal but they will do for what we do for the time being.
Spoke to the Safari Snorkel rep at The Caravan and Camping show and he advised that a Safari Snorkel for the Fortuner would be available September-ish.
Plan is to setup for camping. We've taken it to a local NP and hit some of thee trails exploring for Camp sites already, and I'm seriously impressed at just how easy this thing traverses the terrain. Creek crossings, hairy exits. Does it all with ease. Love it.
Happy days!
