I ordered my Fortuner in January 2016 and after a long 6 month wait it is finally here. I went for the crusade model with the manual transmission and with the following extras. Cargo barrier, tow bar, bull bar and the alternative rims which I personally love. The dealer was kind enough to throw in some rubber mats. I am really happy with it and now I can start making family memories in it. I will be in the near future sell the rims that originally came with it as I did not like them.

Hello Pointlowly, why did it take six months to be delivered? Originally I wanted a Phantom Brown with Tan interior because the screen image in the showroom looked good but I was told the image was not true to the actual colour and I would have to wait six months before I got it so I settled for a Pearl white Crusade with tan interior, effectively I picked it off the shelf. Maybe your choice of manual caused the delay but I cannot imagine why, I went with the Auto with tow pack and top of the range Red Arc Tow Pro electric brake sender. The dealer also threw in the carpets and the windshields and I won't advertise the price I paid because the dealer would get upset, like all dealers they were crying poor but even John Cadogan "car expert" couldn't get me a better price. I like your wheels, however, I am not prepared to pay the extra for these. You never know, we may catch up in Lincoln some time it's only a "short" trip around the gulf.

The reason why it took 6 months was because I wanted the manual transmission. In Japan, they needed enough order to do a production run. Whatever the number was say 1000 orders, that is what they needed. As most people wanted the auto, it was just a simple method of waiting for enough orders. Plus also I wanted the Glacier white. I don't like metallic paint as I know years down the track when I have an accident, to match the paintwork lately is near impossible being an ex spray painter.

Hi Gorby, No I have not had any problems with the manual gearbox. I do mainly highway travel between Port Lincoln and Adelaide so I don't change gears often. Its not until I am in Adelaide I do. Even then I don't have a problem. I will admit that this is my first six speed gearbox and I don't go into 6th too often as I keep thinking that's its reverse. But that is just me getting use to the new gearbox. Once I remember that I have an extra gear, then it will be even better. I have always love manual gearboxes and I will not be getting an auto anytime soon.
